
The Inspection Team from Arms control and inspection activities Centre at the Ministry of Defenсe and Frontier Service of the Committee of national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan with Guest-inspectors from Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan conducted an inspection in the one of unit of the Peoples liberation army of China according to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of China on mutual reduction of armed forces in the border area, from 24 April 1997 («Moscow agreement»).
The "Moscow" Agreement, being the most important instrument of strengthening of security and stability preservations around border makes an important contribution to peacekeeping in the Asian-Pacific ocean region and around the world.
The purpose of inspection was verification of annual military information on quantity of arms, military equipment and the strength of personnel located in 100 km to a zone on either side of border.
During the inspection a briefing about military unit was presented the to Inspectiom team. The guests familiarized with infrastructure and daily activity of personnel.
The Inspection team from China held a reciprocal inspection in the military unit of the Frontier Service of the Committee of National Security of Republic of Kazakhstan.
During inspection inspectors of the People's Republic of China received a briefing from command, familiarized with daily activity of the unit and exchanged opinions on carrying out inspection activity.
Inspections were held in the mutual understanding and cooperation atmosphere. During the inspections the violations of the provisions of the "Moscow" Agreement were not found.
By results of inspections, the sides confirmed performance of the international obligations by the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chinese National Republic.
