May 7-th - Combat parade of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan

For the first in Kazakhstan’s history a Combat parade of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan will be held on May 7, 2013 – on the Day of Motherland Defenders.

20 years of the Armed Forces of KazakhstanMinister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adilbek Dzhaksybekov by invitations of Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Minister of Defence of the Italian Republic has made official visits to these states.
 
 
 




Positive momentum and prospects for cooperation

During the visit to the Republic of Armenia Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan met with his counterpart - Minister of Defence Colonel-General S.Oganyan and Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan.

 There was signed an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on military-technical cooperation.
“Owing to the efforts of the heads of our states a positive political dialogue is gaining momentum between Kazakhstan and Armenia,” Adilbek Dzhaksybekov said. “And the result of that is today's signing of an important document that will lay the legal basis for the intensification of partnership and open a new stage of cooperation in defence sphere.”

In his turn Seiran Oganian said that Armenia highly valued friendly relations with Kazakhstan, including in the framework of cooperation in the Organization of Collective Security Treaty, the Commonwealth of Independent States. This is certainly a significant contribution to strengthening regional and global security.

 On the same day Kazakhstan delegation visited Military Institute of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, where students demonstrated exemplary exercises and practical training on combat duty, and peacekeeping.  During the visit agreements on the development of bilateral relations in military education, training, military-technical personnel, and other areas had been reached.

 The sides also noted that was necessary to concentrate the CSTO efforts for timely response to emerging threats in modern conditions. Thus, the forthcoming joint military exercise “Vzaimodeistvie-2012” (Cooperation) will further the development of capacity of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces. The exercise is scheduled on September. A month later, on the territory of Kazakhstan there will be held the first peacekeeping exercise “Nerushimoye bratstvo-2012" (indestructible brotherhood).  Units of the Republic of Armenia will also take part in the exercise and that will play an important role in achieving the coherence of the combined forces.

 Strengthen Military Cooperation

In Rome, the Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan Adilbek Dzhaksybekov met with Minister of Defence of Italy Giampaolo Di Paola. The meeting’s result was signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Italy on military cooperation.

During the meeting, Minister of Defence of Italy said that his country was interested in the development of military and military-technical cooperation with Kazakhstan and that he paid it a special significance. As a proof of that  Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Italy made a decision to open military attaches office in Kazakhstan.
Indeed, Italy is holds a leading position in the list of the main economic partners of Kazakhstan. Over the past 20 years since the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries there established close friendly relationships, and security issue is an integral component.

During the official visit Kazakhstan’s delegation called a number of Italian companies producing modern weapons and technology, reviewed the Italian Officers School of Military Police – Carabiniers, whose structure and functionality are among the best in Europe, as well as the unit which participates in international peacekeeping missions and equipped with new models of vehicles and weapons.
 Kazakhstan Minister of Defence informed the Italian side of the development of the domestic defence industry, and noted that now there was opportunity to raise the Kazakhstan-Italian cooperation in this field to a new and better level.
 
Development of peacekeeping potential is considered as an important direction as well. Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan invited the Italian colleagues to take part in international peacekeeping exercise "Steppe Eagle" which are held on the territory of Kazakhstan.
 
“I believe that now there open up new opportunities for effective collaboration in defence sphere between Kazakhstan and Italy,” Adilbek Dzhaksybekov said. “Their implementation will certainly serve to security of our peoples and peace strengthening.”
