First Deputy Defence Minister - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defenсe of Kazakhstan Colonel-General Saken Zhasuzakov officially entered the post of Chief of Joint Staff of the CSTO. The ceremony on this occasion was held in Moscow. Secretary General of the CSTO Nikolai Bordyuzha attended the event.
During the ceremony, the First Deputy Defence Minister - Chief of General Staff of Belarus Major-General Peter Tikhon who previously held this position passed the flag to the new Chief of Joint Staff of the CSTO. After that there was signed the act of reception and transmission positions.
Colonel-General Saken Zhasuzakov and Major General Peter Tikhon in their speeches marked strengthening of the role and importance of the Joint Staff of the CSTO's military component in the development of the organization. They also marked the need of further expansion of partners interaction in the military and military-technical cooperation.
First Deputy Defence Minister - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan underlined that the organization would develop a new strategy.
"We should take into account the nowadays situation. Joint Staff of the CSTO should develop its further development strategy" Colonel-General Saken Zhasuzakov said.
