The final tour of the Basketball Championship among 8-male league teams was held in the new sports palace of Taldykorgan city.
The competition was held in playoff system in the first stage of two games, the second stage lasted for up to 2 wins.
At the end of the regular championship, the CSKA team of Almaty city took 3rd and 4th places, that have defined competitor at the 1st stage “Tobol-2” team of Kostanai city, silver medalist of the last season.
In the first match of the very hard and exciting game the CSKA won with a score of 77:63, which gave our team a definite advantage.
The second match began with the pressing of "Tobol" players and by the middle of the second period the main playmaker of the CSKA Senior Lieutenant Ivan Nechayev had the 4th foul, but the team continued to resist and by the end of the game Kostanai city’s team won with a score of 71:65. But regarding the results of two games the Army team was qualified for the Final Four.
The next competitor of the CSKA became winner of the regular championship, “Kapshagay” team of Kapshagay city. The team is composed of players who have played in the National League participating in the World Championships among youth teams.
73:65 was the first match score, and 79:74 was the second one in favor of "Kapshagay". The CSKA will only participate in the drawing of the bronze medal with the team of "Tiger-KATU", Astana city.
In these games servant of the Kazakhstani Army Anton Bykov was seriously injured and was out before the end of the tournament (following the results of the whole championship he was recognized the best forward and entered into the symbolic five of this season). Ruslan Gilyazutdinov, Ivan Nechayev, Alibek Orazov are continuing to play despite their injuries.
And so there was a battle between the two capital teams.
The first half of the game ended with a score of 25:24 and only one point in favor of "Astana". "Astana" won with the score 69:57.
The score of the second match is 53:49 in favor of the CSKA, but injures of major players did not allow them to win.
For the first time in 5 years the CSKA did not get on winner’s stand.
But all basketball experts pointed out the young players of the CSKA Evgeniy Petrovich, Ilya Syubar, Alibek Orazev, candidates for the youth national team of the RK Alym Maksutov, Roman Kadtsina, Myron Korotkov, Evgeniy Gorbunokov.
