The 14th national festival of barrack song "Zhas Ulan" ended by a gala concert in the regional center of Zhambyl oblast in Taraz city. The gala concert was held in the central concert hall "Balasagun" with the support of the regional akimat.
More than hundred participants from different regions of Kazakhstan, of various units of branches and services of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, military educational institutions participated in the festival in Taraz. Also the festival was attended by representatives of other law enforcement agencies: the Republican Guard, the Interior Military Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, formations of Emergency Situations Ministry, Border Guard of the Committee of National Security.
From the very beginning in the 90th the festival of barrack song has become very popular among the military personnel. Annually creative powers of the army amateur performances gather in different cities of Kazakhstan.
This year jury of the festival was headed by representative of the Department for educational and social-legal work of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant-Colonel Bulat Junisbekov. The festival has lasted four days. During these days the contestants have applied all their efforts and capabilities, talent and vocal skills to impress the jury and the audience.
Today winners in four categories: "vocal", "vocal-instrumental ensemble", "folklore" and "original song" have been declared.
Petty officer I class of the Navy A.Kushkimbayeva, a trio from the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications "Jas Sunkar", Sergeant K.Kukuzova and Corporal R.Telemisova from the Air Defence Forces, Junior Sergeant Zh.Abikenova of "Zapad" Regional Command and public servant of the military unit of “Yug” Regional Command K.Kauanova became diploma winners of the festival.
The winner of the Grand Prix has become "Scythians" vocal-instrumental ensemble with the music composition "Alash Elim-ay."
In addition, prizes were awarded for the best author's performance, the best performing skills, the best performance of patriotic songs, the audience award.
It is assumed that the winners of the barrack song festival will compete in "Vivat, Victory!" International Festival of Army Song of the Armed Forces of the CIS, which will be held in Zelenograd, Moscow region, Russia in this spring.
